Einen Ahnennachweis zu führen, hat eine lange Tradition. Im "Dritten Reich" jedoch musste jeder Deutsche mit einem Ahnenpaß seine arische Abstammung nachweisen. Die darin enthaltenen Angaben mussten mit Urkunden belegt werden. Oftmals ist dieses Büchlein noch vorhanden und hilft heute bei der Suche nach unseren Vorfahren.

Its an old tradition to trace back the ancestors. But in the years of the "Third Reich" (1933-1945) Germans were required to trace back their blood lines to insure they were of german origin (not Jewish or Slav). The "Ahnenpaß" contained a recorded history of relatives, marriages, births and deaths.
